Counseling Department Support

This committee does everything from treating and supporting the Counseling Department during the stressful beginning of the school year period to helping staff organize our Career and College Fairs.

Easy Money for DHHS

This committee manages DHHS's participation in the Amazon Smile, Publix Partners, Kroger Community Partners, and Box Tops for Education programs. Ideally, this committee also searches for other "passive fundraising" opportunities for our school community to benefit the school with little-to-no-effort.

Hospitality Committee

focused on showing appreciation for our Teachers and Staff year-round. Each year, we provide meals and other treats for our teachers and staff, coordinate the annual cookie exchange, and work to facilitate Teacher Appreciation week. We also help support the annual Teacher Appreciation Party, which takes place in May of each year.

We welcome your participation. We are seeking people to help plan our activities; to serve as support volunteers to ensure our activities run smoothly - and clean up after them; to organize the annual cookie exchange; and to coordinate Teacher Appreciation Week activities. Holiday Cookie Day

Some might say it is their favorite day of the year at DHHS. Parents bring in cookies or favorite holiday snacks for staff to enjoy . Volunteers will be need for set up, hourly shifts and breakdown. Also I won’t say anything if you sneak a cookie!

Pre-Commencement Ceremony

This meaningful ceremony during the last week of the school year precedes the Graduation Commencement day. It takes place at the Glenn Memorial Auditorium and features inspirational speakers for our Seniors and their families, a processional, and other special traditions. This committee is traditionally composed of Junior parents, but anyone is welcome to join!

PTO Parent Education Programming Committee

This committee assists the PTO Vice-Presidents in arranging for engaging, timely speakers and activities for presentation to the PTO body during our 4 yearly general PTO meetings.

Red Devil Day(s)

Whether in person or virtual, Red Devil Days are a huge endeavor to organize! This committee plans and executes the school's back-to-school Open House. We support Mr. Joyner and his staff in kicking off the beginning of the school year for our students.

Teacher/Staff End-of-the-Year Party

This committee plans and executes a memorable end-of-the-year celebration for DHHS' entire teaching and support staff. The committee also oversees the Teacher of Excellence award, presented during the end-of-the-year party.

Spiritwear

This committee coordinates the in-person and online sale of DHHS spiritwear; everything from clothes, hats, stadium seats, and novelty items. Must be very comfortable with computers and online environments.
